Of course, when we think of Korean drama, how could we not think of My Girl. Airing late 2005, this drama has not only been extremely extremely extremely popular in Korea, but also in the rest of the world. I'm hearing you say, Korean drama is actually only popular in Asia, no where else. But that is NOT CORRECT. Teenagers in Australia, Canada, England, France - everywhere - people are watching these amazingly PERFECT DRAMAS.

Now, to the actual info.

Review
Produced and distributed by SBS, My Girl is just the best. For those who like tragedies, there's the sad stuff you want in it. For those who like comedies, there's hilarious moments in this drama. Basically, it's an allrounder, with absolutely perfect music and unbelievably attractive cast. Lee Dong Wook just absolutely rocks, with the best facial features for a guy and he is just HOT! Of course, Lee Da Hae, her acting is absolutely stunning. How is it possible for someone to not be embarrassed in front of all those cameras? Just a little sneak preview: Lee Da Hae has to sing and half dance in more than one of the scenes and it is just HILARIOUS! Now to Park Si Hyeon, although I would not consider her as pretty as Lee Da Hae, she was Miss. Korea, and her acting skills are undeniable. Although, as I said before, she is not as pretty as Da Hae, her acting is plain good. But we mus say, her cast is not the most challenging of the four. Last but not least, there's Lee Jun Ki, who is widely known for his "prettiness". You may be wondering, why are all the main characters related to being pretty? Well, there is probably a simple answer to that - celebrities are meant to look perfect. Anyway, back to Lee Jun Ki, his acting is so good! He totally falls into the character of Soh Jong Woo, portraying him perfectly. In one of the NGs (or bloopers if you like), there is one with Lee Jun Ki, and he is crying too much in this shot, resulting in a second take. Just an example of how awesome his acting was.

Of course, the plot. The plot is original. I have never watched anything like it in my life, but I'll probably see heaps of duplicates now, due to My Girl's popularity. Basically, the plot is about a girl called Ju Yu Rin (played by Lee Da Hae), who has been to many different countries, because of her father, who simply loves to gamble. As we can all predict, her father has many debts, which is the reason for Yu Rin living in many different countries when she was a child. She has learnt to live by lying, about anything and everything. In the first scene, we are told that she is a tourist guide, who doesn't actually have a license. Her tour group is running late, and she must stop the plane from leaving to Seoul from Jae Joo Island, so she lies to the airport staff that she is majorly sick (as in, she'll die anytime), and that she has decided to let her boyfriend go away from her, so that he can live happily ever after, and that she has not told him about her illness. The airport staff and other people in the airport are greatly moved by her lie, and let her go on the aeroplane. As she walks through the plane, which, does not contain her boyfriend (since she doesn't even have one in the first place). As she gets closer to the first class compartment, she gets more and more frustrated. She mumbles to herself, "Why aren't they here yet?". She reaches the first class compartment and, because the airport staff have realised that her boyfriend is not actually on this plane, ask her to now leave the plane. The passengers from her tour group have now arrived at the airport. Yu Rin then decides to fake faint. Here, she meets Seol Gong Chan for the first time, and Gong Chan sees right through her lie and whispers to her, "If I were you I'd leave now" and forces her hand off the armrest of his chair, where she is clinging on to. She is then piggy-backed off the plane and she sees the people from her tour group boarding the plane. THis is the first scene. Sounds good?

This drama is just too good, so I'm not going to tell you guys any more - you GOT to WATCH it!
